What does the HR-1 Nav include, and how is it different from other Hema GPS navigators?
The HR-1 Nav combines Hema navigation, wireless smartphone connectivity and front and rear camera functionality in one 7-inch dash-mounted system. Its point of difference is this all-in-one setup, bringing Hema Nav, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and dash camera recording together for everyday driving and off-road touring.
Can the Hema HR-1 Nav navigate offline?
Yes. Hema Nav and the Hema 3D Explorer Map provide offline on-road and off-road navigation without relying on mobile reception.
What mapping is included?
The navigator comes pre-loaded with Hema Nav and the Hema 3D Explorer Map. This includes Australian road coverage, topographic mapping and over 427,000km of mapped 4WD tracks with ratings, access information, seasonal closure alerts, track notes and 10m contours.
How many Points of Interest are included?
It includes more than 1.75 million Australian Points of Interest covering locations such as fuel stations, campsites, caravan parks, rest areas, boat ramps, public toilets, attractions and essential services.
Does it support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Yes. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide access to compatible smartphone apps, calls, messages and music through the 7-inch touchscreen.
How do the cameras supplied with the HR-1 Nav work?
The HR-1 Nav has a built-in front-facing camera and includes a wired rear camera with an 8m cable. The rear camera can also assist with reversing by providing additional visibility behind the vehicle. Footage can be recorded in repeating loops of one, three or five minutes, with a compatible microSD card required and sold separately.
Where can I mount the HR-1 Nav in my vehicle?
The HR-1 Nav includes a suction mount for the windscreen and a dashboard mount, letting you choose the setup that best suits your vehicle. Position the navigator where it is easy to see and operate without obstructing your view of the road.
Does the HR-1 Nav have an internal battery?
No. The HR-1 Nav is designed for powered in-vehicle use without an internal lithium battery. Standalone operation requires a USB-C power supply.
Which satellite systems does it support?
Its Multi-GNSS receiver supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS satellite systems.
How long are updates included?
The HR-1 Nav includes three years of quarterly map, track and data updates. Hema 4WD Print Maps powered by Memory-Map are available through an optional subscription and are separate from the included Hema Nav mapping.

You can return items at any of our 165 BCF store locations. Change-of-mind returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, returns for faulty items are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
