Is marine carpet waterproof?

This means any spills will not be absorbed, then it's simply a matter of extracting the dirt or spill from between the fibres with a vacuum, cleaning agent or high-pressure hose.
Although extremely durable and highly resistant to moisture, mould and mildew, they have a low resilience in high-traffic areas. This means that they may flatten over time and become matted, however, this does not affect the waterproof abilities of the carpet.
Tips for installing marine carpet

- Always allow for extra when doing your measurements.
- Remove any temporary seating, rod holders and other objects that may interfere when laying the carpet.
- Unroll the carpet and lay it in the sun for a few hours to soften the backing to make it more pliable and easier to position and cut.
- Ensure you use a glue that will hold the carpet in place and is NOT water-soluble. Indoor/Outdoor Boat Carpet Adhesive, Professional Marine Grade Carpet Adhesive and Spray Contact Adhesive are your best options.
- Work in sections when spreading the flue and allow it to get tacky before laying it down.
