When is Easter 2026?

Prepare the Easter eggs! Easter 2026 is on Sunday April 5th, with Good Friday on the 3rd and Easter Monday on the 6th April. Easter is a great time to not only eat your bodyweight in chocolate, but to also make the most of a long weekend with friends or family and head outdoors for some good old BCFing fun. Whether you want to hit the road in your 4x4, kick back around the campsite, or celebrate at home with an Easter egg hunt for the kids and a BBQ for the grown ups—at BCF, we have everything you need!

Easter Camping

Easter Camping is always a family favourite over the Easter School holidays. There’s just something about making the most of a long weekend as the weather for the year finally starts to cool down. At BCF, we have an epic range of family tents perfect to fit Mum and Dad, the kids, and even man's best friend! Family tents are a great option, with our range including tents that can sleep up to 10 or more people, and even offer multiple rooms/spaces. Pair with your trusty gazebo, park up some camp chairs, and bring out the camp table, and you have the perfect setup for the whole fam! If you’re looking for something quick and easy, a swag could be your new best mate. In a 1 or 2 man size, swags make great options if you’re looking for something compact and easy to set up and pack away. Plus, we’ve got every other type of tent you could ever dream of, from roof top tents to hike tents—you name it, we’ve got ‘em! Is Easter Monday a public holiday?

Sure is! Easter Monday is a public holiday across Australia, which means a lot of Aussies score a long weekend—perfect for camping getaways, fishing trips, or backyard barbies.

Public holiday rules can vary slightly by state or territory, especially when it comes to trading hours, but the day itself is officially recognised nationwide.

If you’re planning an Easter escape, it pays to prep early. Stocking up on camping gear, fishing tackle, or outdoor essentials before the weekend hits means you won’t be scrambling to the shops to try and grab all that you need!

Why do dates for Easter change?

Unlike fixed holidays like Christmas, Easter moves every year because it follows a lunar calendar calculation rather than a set date! Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the March equinox. That means it can land anywhere between late March and late April, which explains why Easter dates are always all over the place!

How do you draw an Easter Bunny?

Drawing the Easter Bunny is a piece of cake (or choccie)—the kiddos can whip up a masterpiece while you’re packing the esky.

Simple steps:

  1. Start with a big oval for the body.
  2. Add a smaller circle for the head.
  3. Draw two long ears on top. Maybe have them tilted or folded for a bit of fun?
  4. Add a fluffy tail, round feet, and simple arms.
  5. Finish with a nose, whiskers, and a cheeky grin with two big front teeth.

From there, encourage your little one to get creative. Maybe they could add an Easter basket, some eggs, or even pop their bunny in a camping chair or have them fishing on the beach for a bit of BCFing fun!

Is the Easter Bunny real?

While no one’s ever caught the Easter Bunny mid-hop, families everywhere still wake up to eggs hidden around the house or campsite, full baskets of goodies, and plenty of proof that someone special visited overnight.

The tradition comes from old European stories linking rabbits with new life and the changing seasons, and today it’s all about the fun and creating epic Easter memories—whether that’s scavenger hunts for chocolate eggs at home, treats waiting at the campsite, or a day in the outdoors filled with plenty of BCFing fun.
