The Penn Fishing Tackle Company was founded by German-born Otto Henze in the States, 1932. Since then, this company has been ahead of the curve when it comes to fishing reel design and manufacture. Later, Penn reels became the go-to choice for competition anglers and by 2004, 1,400 International Game Fish Association world records had been made using various Penn models.
