Designed to Cast Smarter, the DC (Digital Control) braking technology is the key element of this reel. When a cast is made, it automatically engages and controls the spool rotation by measuring its speed, and then applies the appropriate amount of braking force to keep the cast under control. While electronic, it doesn’t require a battery, as the system re-charges itself as the spool rotates.
The DC offers four settings that enables anglers to fish a wide variety of lures of different shapes and sizes, in all weather conditions, without having to constantly fiddle with internal brake settings. It can also accommodate different casting techniques and even line type-monofilament, fluorocarbon or braid.
SHIMANO’S DIGITAL CONTROL BRAKING SYSTEM
Utilises a microcomputer to monitor spool speed 1,000 times every second and apply the perfect amount of brake to prevent backlash and maximize distance.
Anglers of all skill levels will appreciate less thumbing and trouble-free casting in all conditions.
