Recommended Lure Weight

The Recommended Lure Weight or Casting Weight shows you what weight of lures the rod is designed to cast. It's usually written on the rod in a range.

• Lures that are too light for the rod won't load properly when you cast. You'll notice the cast feeling weak and short, and it'll be harder to control the lure.
• Lures that are too heavy for the rod will overload it. Casting will feel soft and slow, and you'll lose accuracy and control.
• When choosing a rod, look at the weight of lures you plan to fish with and get something that matches that range for the best results.
