Recommended Line Weight

The Recommended Line Weight or Line Rating shows the weight of fishing line you should spool onto your reel when using the rod. Staying within the recommended line rating range makes sure your rod can flex properly, cast efficiently, and handle the shock of fighting a fish.

• Using lighter line than recommended can result in the line breaking.
• Using heavier line than recommended can potentially put too much pressure on the blank and snap the rod itself.
• The line weight rating is usually printed on the rod blank near the handle. Use line that matches the recommended range for best results.
