ASTM F1720: Kids Sleeping Bag Standards

The Wanderer Kids Sleeping Bag temperature ratings have been tested to the ASTM F1720 standard, which takes into account that metabolic heat production declines with age. 

This is why temperature ratings on the Wanderer Kids Sleeping bags get smaller as they grow older. As the test manikin used simulates the approximate physical shape and size a 50th percentile 8-year old male child, it is recommended to use the temperature rating for age 8 as the comfort rating (median age). Alternatively, a temperature range is provided so you can assess the suitability of this sleeping bag easily for your child and the level of warmth needed for the respective sleep climate.
