The Reidy’s Shallow Taipan is towed by the nose of the lure, and is fitted with heavy-duty split rings and heavy-duty size-2 treble hooks. The Taipan lure is 90mm in length and weighs approximately 18 grams, and excels whether you are casting or trolling. With its rolling body action, fast tail beat and internal rattles, what fish could resist it! The Taipan has a great reputation for catching trophy barramundi, mangrove jack, tarpon, trevally, coral trout and fingermark in the north, as well as kingfish, mulloway, flathead, Australian salmon and tailor in the south. It has a running depth of around 2 metres, making it an ideal lure for both the land-based and boating angler. After you have cast the lure out, you will need to get it down with a good jerk of your rod tip. Once down, keep slow-rolling it back towards you, remembering to stop every now and then for a slight pause.
