OzFish

A better future for fishing

Our fish habitats have experienced more than two centuries of habitat destruction by human intervention, placing the future of recreational fishing at risk. Many of these vital habitats are not just threatened but are considered functionally extinct. Less habitat means fewer fish surviving, thriving and breeding and that impacts every fishing trip. BCF is committed to making a real difference to fish populations and 5 years ago partnered with OzFish Unlimited, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the protection and restoration of our waterways. Despite the challenges of drought, fire, flood and a pandemic, the work speaks for itself in scores of riparian trees planted, seagrass meadows rejuvenated, rivers resnagged, shellfish reefs restored, fish rescued, habitats mapped, rivers monitored, and waterways cleaned.

At the core of BCF is their genuine desire to leave a legacy of a better fishing future. From seagrass to saltmarsh and everything in between they have backed OzFish for close to five years to help rebuild, revitalise and replenish our degraded ecosystems. Their continual commitment to this legacy means that together we are making profound improvements to Australia’s waterways.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

At BCF we know great things happen when everyone joins together in pursuit of a common purpose. Our vision is to unite our passionate customers with leading conservation organizations like OzFish to collectively shape the future of the outdoors for all who love it today and for generations to come.

We’re also directly investing in grassroots projects…

After all, healthier waterways will mean more fish and better fishing.

We're working through our partners OzFish to ensure the health of our fish and wildlife resources for generations to come. Our efforts have restored truckloads of habitat, helping to create healthy rivers, lakes and oceans, with programs that have significantly increased wildlife populations for many native species.
