There are many different fridge freezers to choose from & there are a number of different factors you need to consider.
Power Supply
Two way fridges- run on both 12v & 240v power sources. Three way Fridges– run on 12v, 240v & LPG. However they are not very efficient on 12v.
Size
Take into account the number of people using the fridge, as well as the amount of time you normally go away for. For example 2 people with a 40L fridge should last a week. It’s a good idea to measure the fridge you have and the space you plan on putting it, this will ensure it fits perfectly in your vehicle.
Freezers
Some fridges can be used either as a fridge or a freezer but not both at the same time, whereas other can be. So if you plan on freezing a fresh catch while you away, a freezer option is for you.
Hot Tip
If you have bought a 3 way fridge, make sure you cool it down on 240v first before plugging it into 12v while you travel. Once you arrive at your destination hook up the LPG. The same goes for a 2 way fridge. Cool it down on a 240v power source and then plug it into your 12v socket while travelling and when you arrive. This will ensure your fridge runs at its maximum potential.
