Cold Cranking Amp or CCA Batteries
Are designed to give a short burst of power to turn the car on but they need to be recharged quickly.
Deep Cycle Wet Cell Batteries
Are designed so that appliances can be used continuously without damaging the life of the battery. Try to avoid running the battery under 20% charge as this will shorten its life.
Absorbed Glass Matting (AGM)
Deep cycle batteries have a unique glass matting design that prevents any acid leaks or spills. They are a sealed maintenance free battery. So there is no need for topping up water levels.
CCA battery needs to be charged quickly which will require a battery charger of at least 10amp.
Make sure that when charging a deep cycle battery you are using a smart/3 stage charger as they need to be charged slowly unlike the CCA battery.
