Gas Bottle Refills
Running out of gas halfway through cooking the snags? Not on our watch, mate! At BCF, we'll keep you fuelled up and adventure-ready.
Before you arrive in store for a gas refill
We recommend contacting your local store to check availability prior to arriving.
Please allow around 15 minutes for your gas refill. Wait times may vary depending on how many customers are being served and the availability of our team member operating the refill station. Wait times may increase during busy periods.
- Weather check: We’re unable to refill gas bottles in inclement weather for safety reasons.
- Store availability: Not every store offers refills, so check availability before making the trip.
- Bottle condition: Your gas bottle must be within 10 years from the stamped date, and in good, clean condition.
- Remove accessories: Detach all hoses and keep the internal connection free from dirt or debris to ensure a clean gas flow.
- Label it: Write your name on your bottle so we don’t mix it up with someone else’s.
- Earthing: Remove your bottle from any container before refilling to allow the bottle to be earthed—this helps prevent static electricity build-up.
- Safety first: Bring a mate to help lift your filled bottle into your car, as our team are prohibited by legislation to load filled LPG gas bottles into customer vehicles.
- Transport: Ensure you have a safe means to transport your gas cylinder/s away from a store. You can transport 2 x 9kg gas cylinder in an enclosed vehicle.
- Accountability: Make sure you stay with your gas bottle. BCF are not permitted to store unattended cylinder/s once they have been filled.
Your Responsibilities
Requirements for transporting cylinders in enclosed vehicles
- The cylinder is stored securely in an upright position and, if possible, in the boot of the vehicle and in a way that avoids excessive exposure of the cylinder to heat or direct exposure to sunlight.
- The service valve of the cylinder is tightly closed.
