It’s important for you to work out the style of fishing you will likely be doing as this will ultimately determine the combo you purchase.

A spinning combo is great for an all-rounder setup as it’s easy to use and has the largest range of sizes. Baitcaster combos are designed for accuracy with a shorter, stiffer rod giving you much more control when casting lures. Surf combos are designed for punching long casts out over the break waves and are usually matched with either an Alvey side cast or larger spin reel. Lastly, overhead combos are designed for offshore bottom bashing as well as trolling with strong drags and thick powerful rods.
