The extra inches of the 7-inch Jerk Shad will attract just about any predatory species that swims and eats small baitfish - cobia, samson fish, kingfish, trevally, golden snapper, tuna, barra, jewfish, and big flathead. Even a sailfish has been taken on Gulp Jerk Shads. This is fantastic soft bait for larger species in the bluewater and estuaries, and they are also extremely effective while casting into the washes off the rocks, or deep gutters on the beach. Reef fish to pelagics can’t resist the combination of baitfish profile - Gulp scent and darting, fluttering, wounded baitfish action that can be created with a simple, jerking retrieve technique. They can be rigged on a number of different jig heads. They are also extremely effective while casting into schools of feeding fish and retrieving them in a stop-start action. Watch out for the explosive takes as they stop. Also try ripping them across the surface for kingfish.
