Incredibly effective even without ice. Very lightweight. My only complaint was I got it in black. It scuffed up right away, the lubricant for the zipper can get on the surface and muck up its appearance pretty badly. Finally, black, simply absorbed sunlight and defeats the purpose. So I strongly recommend do not get black. I wish they had more colors like yeti does.
