The Sandviper is an ideal shallow water lure for barra, tuna, bonito, tailor, mackerel, cobia and mahi-mahi, whether you are casting or trolling. When trolling is has a maximum speed of around 7 knots and runs at 1 metre in depth. With a weight of 28 grams and a length of 140mm, it has the potential of being a great lure for casting.
It works very well when “twitched” or “walking the dog” around snags and feeder creeks for barra, trevally, jacks and other mangrove creek dwellers. In the southern waters, you could try using it for flathead around the base of mangroves, and mulloway near structure like bridges and retaining walls.
The Sandviper comes complete with 3 x No 2 trebles that are super sharp and will help you hold onto that fish you are targeting. Try slow-rolling it over and through your favourite snag or shallow set of flats. The striking black and red eye, plus the scaled pattern will attract the attention of the targeted fish species.
