Braid, as the name suggests, is constructed by merging separate synthetic fibres into one stretch of fabric. Essentially, braid fishing line is made using the same actions as one would braid someone’s hair. Man made fibres such as Microdyneema, Spectra and Dacron are commonly used. Braid typically has a smaller diameter compared to monofilament line of similar strength and can be easily coloured to suit angler’s particular preferences or to suit the conditions in which the line is being used.
